The API National Property Conference will be held from 18 - 20 October 2023 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Queensland.

Am I eligible to apply for the Student Volunteer Program?

To be eligible to apply for the Student Volunteer Program, applicants must:

  • Be over 18 years old
  • Be a student member of Australian Property Institute
  • Be a current student enrolled in an Australian university

What will I receive if I am successful?

  • A complimentary full registration to the National Property Conference with some designated free time to explore the conference as a delegate
  • A ticket to the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner
  • Meals including lunch and a light dinner on Wednesday; breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and three-course dinner on Thursday; and breakfast, morning tea and lunch on Friday
  • The opportunity to network with delegates working in the property industry

What are the benefits of joining the Student Volunteer Program?

Student volunteers will have the opportunity to gain exposure to numerous prominent companies within the property sector.

Volunteers will also be scheduled time to attend some sessions before or after their shift and are invited to attend the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner social events.

How many hours will volunteers be expected to work?

On average successful applicants will be allocated one shift per day. Each shift will last for up to 4-5 hours and volunteers will receive rest breaks and meals. Volunteers will not be permitted to attend sessions during their shift, however they will be scheduled some time to attend the conference as a delegate.

What if I am not available for the entire event?

Applications will still be considered even if an applicant is not available for the entire duration of the event, however, it is preferable for students to be available for most, if not all of the conference for logistical purposes. 

Please ensure you list your availability as accurately as possible on your application form.

What will shifts involve?

Volunteer roles can include but are not limited to assisting with: registration desk, conference bag packing, admin duties, API booth, session counting, ushering, speaker assistance and roving microphones in sessions.

Do I need to pay for my own travel and accommodation?

Yes, all successful volunteers will need to arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation. If you need assistance with suitable accommodation options please let us know after receiving your confirmation email.
