OPPORTUNITY IN CRISIS: Time for Change

Congress 2022 will be a celebration.

It will be the largest gathering to bring planners back together again under the same roof for three long years. And whilst virtually conversations have continued, this will be the time to look at our challenges and how as a profession we are creating positive change.

With issues of COVID, Climate Change and Housing monopolising media headlines, the feeling of being in crisis is almost inevitable. As city shapers and community makes, we create vibrant cities and thriving communities through our solutions in these areas and more.

Let’s carry on the conversation started by Brent Toderian at our 2021 Planning Festival and ‘fight hard for more successful cities’.
Congress 2022 will provide the opportunity to come together to work on and share our experiences across:

Climate Crisis

Housing Crisis

Inequality and Cultural Crisis

Public Health Crisis

PRESENTATION TYPES

CONCURRENT SESSION20min presentation slots to give you ample time to inspire your peers and showcase your project, work or concept. Dazzling visual presentation mixed with an engaging presenting attitude required – inspiration needs to be delivered with pizzazz.

WORKSHOPThese workshops are outcome focused and must have a strong learning objective. If you can help planners learn a valuable skill crucial to creating change in one of our areas of crisis, we want to hear from you. Workshops will be limited to 80 people and run for 1.5 hours.  We will supply a room in any configuration you need, and work with you on any other materials needed for your facilitation.

Some real rock stars with impressive abstracts may be asked to present during the plenary session, or be invited to participate in panel discussions. Timing and format for this will be discussed on a case by case basis.
