The City of Greater Dandenong is the most culturally diverse community in Australia.
Home to more than 160,000 people, Greater Dandenong residents come from at least 154 different countries and speak 130 different languages. Well over half of our residents (63%) were born overseas and nearly three-quarters (72%) speak a language other than English in their homes.
Our city covers 129.5sq km, which includes 170 parks and reserves. Greater Dandenong is home to more than 17,000 businesses and more than 95,000 people are employed locally.
Our city is considered a top destination for foodies, including the Little India and Afghan Bazaar cultural precincts, Dandenong Market, Sensational Springvale as well as many authentic cultural food businesses.
