The City of Greater Geelong is a welcoming and multicultural region with 17.7 per cent of our population born overseas.
The Wadawurrung People are the Traditional Owners of this land and have cared for our region for more than 25,000 years.
We have the largest population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in any local government area in Victoria, representing 1.3 per cent of our residents.
International students also play an important part of our rich multicultural fabric.
Covering an area of 1,252 square kilometres, Greater Geelong is home to a stunning mix of coastal, suburban and country areas including a thriving central Geelong.
Geelong is Australia’s only UNESCO City of Design, thanks to our long and proud history of manufacturing, innovation and design, as well as our Clever and Creative ambitions.
Our city boasts the fastest population growth in Victoria and second fastest in Australia, the largest regional economy in the state, and the fastest jobs growth of all Australian regional cities.
We regularly attract international delegations as our global visibility and an understanding of our contribution to Australia’s economy and culture increases.
The City is thrilled to show you our diverse region in May.
