Wyndham is a vibrant and diverse municipality located on the western edge of Melbourne and covers an area of 542km² including 27.4km of coastline. 

The Traditional Owners of the land are the Bunurong and Wadawurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. 

Wyndham is comprised of 17 suburbs with a population of around 324,000 people. Ideally located approximately 30km south-west of the Melbourne Central Business District and 35km to the north-east of Geelong, the City of Wyndham is of economic significance.

As one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, Wyndham is expected to be home to more than 500,000 people by 2040. Since 2016 the population has increased by 34.5 per cent with 41 per cent of Wyndham City residents born overseas. Wyndham residents come from more than 162 different countries and speak over 183 different languages.

Council has recently adopted The Wyndham Plan which is a holistic, integrated and place-based approach to creating the type of city Wyndham’s residents aspire to live in. The Werribee City Centre forms part of the Wyndham City Heart which includes the Werribee National Employment and Innovation Cluster (NEIC).
